That's why TV has become such rubbish!! There is no real information, only the mainstream opinion gets through..everybody repeats the same slogans & concepts, if you don't, the sponsors won't support your programme. Thus , TV & newspapers are not free at all but rather they are run by them; ads interrupt the speaker, changing completely the subject with such an invasive way, telling you that it's what THEY are selling that's really important!!! What we need is a public Tv without publicity.

Discrediting Chomsky by saying that he's not "t.v." material b/c it takes him too long to warm up is laughable, given he's an expert in linguistics.

    Pathetic, pathetic excuse.

right on, brother...we are not as original in our thinking as we think, rather a result of all the info we process.

His story about Mohawk Valley Formula and that you would be laughed at to be anti-Itallian (an accolade in Italian culture). Tricks in brainwashing, any outside comments are the work of the devil, close our minds to education and religion. Cartesian clearing of the table of all illusions and only considering what you can prove, change us to limit the discussion. His examples of Co-Intel-Pro with Andrew Marr in the media (YT) are priceless and his talk about concision on Niteline are good.

FLIP FLOPPING IS THE NATURAL COURSE OF THINGS. As we become influenced by information we wax and wane on our experiences. As children we may think differently about the pathway to enlightenment, as we age, new considerations affect our judgement, it's a bias we have to recognize. Consider Carl Sagan's Baloney detection kit and you will be struck by the logic attacks on argument. For instance, ad hominem attacks when someone attacks the person (you're an idiot) instead of the point being made

Honestly, I wasn't always able to "see" Chomsky's clarity and wisdom. If you asked me five years ago what I thought of Chomsky, I'd have told you he was crazy, anti-American, and should be ignored.

If you're not for freedom of speech for those you think barbaric or differ from your point of view.... you ain't for free speech at all. Only those that miss the corrosion get corroded, Those that see and empathize with lame attempts to con-joule can create, IMHO. BTW, I reserve the right to be wrong. m.

I had his Reader on my sidetable for a year before I read him. I was struck by his clarity. I'm also struck by the fact that others don't see it, maybe we need a carchase scene or a gunfight in the middle?!

This is my favorite of all of Chomsky's works. I wonder what percentage of the American public could handle all 8 of these clips?
