Протест на ОМО Илинден во Стразбур

The United Macedonian Organization (UMO) Ilinden PIRIN is staging protest in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, aimed at raising awareness about the plight of the unrecognized Macedonian minority in Bulgaria.

The party also opposes the proposed closing of the monitoring of the execution of the 2005 judgment of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in the case of UMO Ilinden PIRIN vs Bulgaria.

According to the party of Macedonians living in Bulgaria, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe is to discuss this proposal in on Tuesday and on Wednesday.

UMO Ilinden PIRIN strongly opposes the closure given the fact that the party has not yet been re-registered and in light of the fact that there are currently two pending applications before the ECtHR in relation to recent refusals to re-register the party.
