Hmm thats strange, I believe the 4th album was the deepest songs epik high ever released, and signaled their breakaway from mainstream music.

You must understand that mainstream music is music directed at the audience. Epik high's popularity was not their fault, and just because so many people like their music does not mean that they deserve a negative light because they became mainstream, good music or not.

I have to agree with some of that. They are mainstream, although in my opinion, it doesn't lower the quality of their music.

And for what it's worth, I liked epik high more back in the days before their 4th album. THAT was deep and great music. They'll slowly returning with their 5th album, but it's still not the same feeling. I'm going to climb out on a rope and say that the 5th album wasn't that great :/.

I'm just saying it lowers the value of what good music is in MY eyes when somebody with poor taste in music starts to share the same tastes in music as someone with good taste in music, aka going mainstream. That person with poor taste in music could like lil wayne too.

Plus, I'm not saying it INFLUENCES me, I'm just saying I start to notice that happening, and it's not exactly flattering to both me or epik high.

I don't even hate epik high, lmao. I'm just saying they're going mainstream.

The person may not be able to differentiate between a good and "bad" song, but they may still like a good song. I was simply replying to your comment "but it's not the same when you get told how great of a group epik high is by someone with poor taste in music."

Therefore, someone with poor taste in music could say the exact same thing about Tiger JK couldn't they? The opinions of others should not influence your own. Epik High still produces sick beats and deep lyrics.

How does someone with poor taste in music differentiate a good song from a bad one? He has POOR taste in music. Good songs sound good to him, but bad ones could also sound good to him.  Where do you draw the line when comparing yourself to him?

I laugh at how some of you fanboy/girls are. Just cause I said something negative about epik high I get a bunch of thumbs downs. If you guys can't realize the point I'm trying to make then you just proved it.

I find myself sick of new epik high songs within a week because of how mainstream they are, and the fact that they're on EVERYBODY'S ipods. Don't get me wrong their songs are great and full of meaning, but it's not the same when you get told how great of a group epik high is by someone with poor taste in music. It's what happens when you choose to go mainstream. EP said themselves that they don't like how mainstream their music has become.
