Alva demo at the Overton Shell in Memphis, Ron Hale from Cheapskates put on the demo (thanks!). There was a contest before the demo, Roger Seliner, Toby O'Byrnes, Wes Briggs and Mike Lassiter were all there. After the demo, they auctioned off the ramp so we made a quick call to Ross at Skateworld in Corinth and we bought it for about $1200.

Back to the highlights..Roger was ripping, Brad Mullins was playing air synth to "Jungle Love" (oh we oh we oh) and oh yeah, Roger's pretty much the best dude ever.

  • Killer.

If that's the same Roger I'm thinking of, I remember seeing him skate in like 1986. He was doing the most stylish G-Turns that just blew my mind.

  • Ah CheapSkates..off Getwell Av. I'm in Chicago now, but Cheapskates hold fond memories with that big ass snake, iguanas and birds!

    Hi Ron!

  • Every skater in Memphis is lucky to have grown up with a shop like Cheapskates. Ron rules, and so did his pythons and iguanas!!!
