The political systems have indeed been only aggravating every situation, as if they intentionally goof up every cycle in the history of our economy to pocket a coin or two.. and just maybe much more than that. So when educated people talk of the US economy and what it will be in net worth, what they are essentially spelling out is *What the youth of Today inevitably will inherit, and Who they are indentured to fast, tighten and plan for Tomorrow*.
"During these economic bubbles It was like shouting in to a hurricane, nobody was willing to listen" . The past generation ( adults now in their 50's , 60's ) have proven to be narcissistic and selfish , as the past decades have shown us evidence, they are a mob without protocol for the future or it's eventual status quo. For any of you who studied Latin, Ipso facto, aka as night follows day, the populace of our age ( adults 20's , 30's )will be left only to mitigate their losses and fantasies.
@RVAepiphanyseeker 68 was the great society, and the government and taxpayers taking on too large a role in prosperity, in which it was doomed to fail. leadership from the gov't will quite naturally inhibit innovation (ultimately education and science) and personal responsibility, as the get their policy ideas from the special interest groups that seek to maintain yesterday.
I feel like we just got the introduction to a longer thought. He basically says the Tech and housing bubble were a result of the rest of the economy not growing so there was nothing backing up the growth in tech and housing. So in 1968 the world looked like we would be on the moon and going to mars and have 4 day work weeks with French vacations ... but instead ... "everything went the other way" (down). So ... WHY? - seemed like he thought he knew the answer but wanted the audience to say.
He makes a lot of sense. I wish politicians would listen to him more.
