  • I am restoring a MGB myself, what did you do to install the battery under the hood?

  • If you notice, I removed the air system. It was badly rusted and I figured this was only a fair weather car anyway... So, that left room for the battery to the passenger side. It was still a tight fit for height. Used some 3/4" angle iron to form a bottom frame. Good luck.

  • Man, I admire your courage to start and actually finish this project

  • Thank you. I learned a ton of things about body work and the whole thing was actually fun for me :) It is now time to search for a muscle car project !

I see you are into heights. We were looking at that extreme Norwegian with the wing-suit. WOW what a rush.

  • @NorkiddExo Hi, sorry I didn't reply for so long... This one didn't have an overdrive. It would have been tough for me to get to all the bolts to pull just the trany, so I pulled the whole thing out at once, engine with 4 speed.

  • @joralebedev Thank you for the compliment. I sandblasted the floor, MIG welded a few little plates in the rust through areas, then undercoated with a couple gallons of the Walmart bed liner. If you can take all the rust down, I would suggest paint also. I would choose bed liner since it leaves a nice finish. The tar stuff looks good at first, then turns to grim soon...

  • Fan-freakin'-tastic!

  • WHat did you do for the floor? Mines covered in a thin layer of paint/ protector and the rest surface rust. Thinking light sand then paint with layer of tar then black enamel?

  • when you take the engine gearbox out, do you leave on the overdrive, because otherwise its a bit heavy to have drop onto chest.
