movement inspried by parkour freeurnning and gymnastics.

To me, this style of movement is more than just the physical movement, or the trick from A to B which you see in the videos.
A video simply cannot explain how free running, parkour, lart du deplacement or whatever you want to call it effects the practitioner. All that is shown in a video is the completed jump, the finished product.
Every jump, or climb or anything that one does, is always in preparation for the next more difficult more intricate or more mentally challenging movement.
What often isnt showcased, or even mentioned in these videos is the years of preparation that go into each and every movement.
What you see is not simply a few seconds, but a product of years of jumping climbing and conditioning, in order to learn how ones body moves, to be able to step back and say, yes I can make that, without any shred of doubt in your mind.
On top of this there is the fear factor of each jump, the mind is programmed to always say what if no matter how certain you are. This can be a blessing and a curse, and your instincts should never be ignored. If you are scared, chances are there is a reason for it.
For this reason, every movement is as much, if not more a mental challenge as much as a physical challenge.
Movement, to me, is not simply I do every now and then, it is constantly on my mind, every time I walk past an area the first thing I think is how can I move through here.
Its something I do, to attempt escape from the world, create my own personal space where nothing and no one else exists, for that one moment when youre flying through the air, because your entire mind is upon the movement, you simply cannot think of anything else. The escapism is bliss, its just you and the obstacle.
I tribute should also be added to the strength of the majority of the parkour/free run community. Many of us meet for the first time, without having ever spoken and instantly get on well, simply because we all speak the same language. Movement. But we must remember that not everyone speaks this language, and we must always respect their lack of knowledge, and their opinions as they are as valid as ours. Simply because it is our way, just not mean it is the right way.
So I ask you, even if it just the once, to go out, try a small safe jump, or a little movement, because everything starts small, and see if it captures you, see if you find a little bit more of yourself. Thankyou.
