this is based on a misrepresentation of the Pauli exclusion principle.

So in Back to the Future part 2, why didn't the 1955 Doc Brown and the 1985 Doc Brown fuse together when the 1955 Brown asked the 1985 Brown for a crescent wrench?? They WERE on the same space!! So to speak.

This was a funny scene but no one really has much right to get really pissed at its inaccuracy, the entire movie is full of plot holes, like all time travel movies. Good movie though, all the same.

Yeah, your last point I think is the most important. We don't even need to think about cellular replication, how are they occupying "the same space" to begin with? I'm fairly certain when I touch something, by cells don't fuse with the cells of the object I'm touching at the molecular level. I'm just TOUCHING it, I'm not in the same space as it! What the hell, writers? I get it, the average moviegoer doesn't care, but use some verisimilitude, please! It helps the mood!
