These are pictures as we prepare to make history at Comerica Park when we perform the National Anthem in American Sign Language (ASL) at a Detroit Tigers game on May 19, 2009.

The Eastover Elementary Sign Choir is a group of 70 Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing children from Oakland County in Michigan. The group is supported by the Deaf Community Advocacy Network (Deaf CAN!), Eastover Elementary PTO, and the Bloomfield Hills Recreation Department.

The children will perform with Joyce Stearnes Thompson - youngest daughter of the late Norman "Turkey" Stearns, a professional baseball player who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.

The group is directed by nationally-certified interpreter, Tony LaPerna Jr. who resides in Livonia, Michigan.
