Interesting you mentioned the air bladder whistler. I have a Smarty Bird too and he does not whistle. I HAVE completely disassembled, rebuilt and fabricated a new remote control for my broken Ideal Robot Commando. And what did I find in the foot of the toy? I decomposed air bladder that was actuated off a lever as the toy moved. THAT can only mean that the original Robot SQUEAKED when he moved, a fact that I have NEVER heard about that toy!

I am interested. Tell me more.

Thanks for reminding me what my old Smartie Bird did for the whole day, Christmas day, 1964, before I set him too close to the fireplace. I was only two years old and I was devastated. You are very correct when you say they were fragile. He melted into a deformed creature rather quickly, and never worked again.

Wow, I didn't know Warhol collected toys, but it makes sense because he did do a lot of nostalgia art.

Yeah, this is a pretty bizarre toy.

What a fantastic toy! I love the spinning feet!

Nice toy. I can imagine Any Warhol with one, he collected toys, too.

There is one on ebay right now
I would like to get this for my almost 50 year-old sister. It was her favorite toy. Does anyone know of one? Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for checking out my vid. I happen to have two Smarty Birds. The one shown in the vid is my personal one. I have another but it doesn't work as well, but looks great. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.
