S&P Just Saw: WATCHMEN

Greetings at four o'clock in the morning! We just saw Watchmen, which Peter just happens to be a fanboy of. Call him silly, but he doesn't think Watchmen is a movie for everyone.

It hit the right key notes, but it didn't carry the substance of the book.

I think a book, by its very nature, will always be more dense than a movie. That can't be helped. What surprises me about the movie is that it captures visceral elements that the book only hinted at---like music, action, and the joys of gorgeous cinematography. Fair trade if you ask me.

Definitely catch it in IMAX if you can. It's warranted.
