man i loved playing this game when i was little............even though i crashed into the freakin walls........it was still fun ^_^

If you either read the manual, or look at the vehicle selection screen, you'll see the differences in stats.
Samurai Goroh's Fire Stingray is the slowest to accelerate, but has the highest top speed, and the highest weight, which means you can use the other racers smashing into your ass to get you up to full speed, get way ahead of the competition, and then not worry too much about hitting a wall here or there: you won't bounce back as much.

So wierd. i ALWAYS picked the yellow car when i was a kid, but seems to me its not the fastest.
