    My patella was bothering me the day I was set to max, so I didn't test... and I beat my lower back up a couple weeks later, getting back to hard training shortly, unfortunately

    I was going to attempt 715

    surprised it too so long for someone to ask about that TBH, I've been O shoes on squat for probably 5+ years... I just felt like it was increasing my ROM. When I squat I bottom out all of my reps, the O shoes were making me bottom out later... thats basically the reason for the change... I don't like chucks though, they feel soggy and soft, and they don't stay tight... going to be buying metal squat shoes soon.

  • @Newtime001 well I think the heel would in general put little more emphasis on the quads in general also just naturally instead of the hips/glutes/hamstrings more. Many of the best russian squatters use those metal squat shoes which are similar to chucks but much more stable.

    thats another reason I switched too, as i've gotten mor experienced, my stance has been gradually moving out wider, I squat with more glute and hamstring than before (used to be pretty much pure quad)

  • @Newtime001 ahh that sucks. well at least you know when to put the brakes on and not drive yourself into the ground training through injuries. Im sure you would have hit 715 pretty easily.

    I literally laughed when you posted this in the race to a 700 squat thread, youre probably gonna be good for 725+. hell if spent some time peaking with wraps you could probably hit 800lbs wrapped. awesome
