My version put together in a couple of hours based on Alicia's version of this song.

A youtube buddy asked me for some tips on playing this song, so this one's for you.

This is played on a Yamaha 62 with a Yanagisawa metal mouthpiece.
Enjoy.

  • good job dude.

Just wondering, does the tone of your sax depend mostly on the mouthpiece? Cause im trying to get to sound like yours.

  • Mouthpiece then sax body.

  • If you don't mind can you tell me what notes are invovled at 3:27, I really wanna steal that lick and put it in another key for my song, If you would please

  • Hey thanks for listening. It's not that I don't want to tell you. I think it's a good exercise to try and transcribe them yourself. A part of becoming a good musician is to be able to listen and know what someone else is playing. Good luck and if you get too stuck, let me know.

  • I really like the way how you did this how long have you been playing the sax and how did you come up with the notes for it.Amazing i want to do that someday

  • Been playing on and off for a decade now. I came up with the notes by listening to the original Keys version and played the similar notes on the sax. I hope you the best in your endeavors and keep the music alive!

  • Whoever gave this guy less than 5 stars is an asshole!

  • The tone he makes a 0:47 is just amazing it's just like he's speaking the emotion right out of the sax.

  • Think it was well played too, it was swinging, bet still not convinced i will play metal moutpiece - may bee one day. My teacher would have commented those cheeks for Ebuchure sake but newer mind if it works for you !

  • Hei!!! very nice play ! Meybe it would be possible to get the notes m? r.pranevicius@yahoo.com Big Thanks !

  • @RedRobin2010 Mouthpiece, saxophone itself. It mostly depends on how you play. Your embouchure mostly determines how you sound.

  • Black Jesus.

  • I love how he bends the note at 1:58!

  • that was great, most people can't play saxophone dynamics well but you did. 5/5

  • are you using a yas 23 or 62?

  • Excellent my friend i keep looking on youtube to take inspiration as i'm only a late starter beginner

    love your tone
