That girl kicked your ass's.

Someone recommend the college way, I agree. However, graduating from a name brand college doesn't give you any advantages, nor you can expect a right seat of a 747 while the ink are still wet on your dipolma

all you guys arguing about ERAU and so forth are being gay. I go to ERAU in Daytona. And hear this type of jib jabber bullshit everyday. You get out of it what you put into it. End of story. If you're driven enough, you'll get a job just like everyone else. Now everyone shut the fuck up, quit being such Riddle nerds, and watch the hot girl suck in oxygen depleted air. fucking hell.

hahaha come on boys ... =w cool girl !

I have had the opportunity to dine with the Chief Pilot and Chief Mechanic of Pepsi Co's flight department, amongst other networking opportunities. It's not a job but later on having him as a reference could go a long way. The student group I am involved with is formally recognized and endorsed by the NBAA, and is the only one of that type in the country. Students at other universities may have similar experiences but you typically don't them at a regular flight school.
-
Well then if you did get a free degree and had credits to transfer to the ERAU degree and got a scholarship then that changes things up for you. However, not everyone is as fortunate as you and telling them people from ERAU will get preference over other people is not true. I have been to ERAU. I am part of a fraternity and the flight team at my school. Tell me one opportunity you get at ERAU that you wouldn't get at another university with a flight program?
-
My first was "free" and by completing electives and general courses outside ERAU my time there has been cut from 4 down to 2 years. Add in a scholarship and it becomes substantially more affordable. I respect that you have your opinion and you are fully entitled to it. ERAU doesn't roll out a red carpet and lay everything on a golden platter but opportunities exist there that you don't find in many other places. Things tend to work out for those that take advantage.

You already have a degree and are getting another degree in one of the most expensive schools in the country? you do realize that is not very smart finance wise but whatever works for you. I am just stating my opinion. Of course anyone can do what they like and what works best for them. But they should not make the decision of going to ERAU because they might get an edge in the hiring process because that is just not true.
-
As a current ERAU Aero Sci & flight student I'd beg to differ and that's not just because that's where I study but because I value what I do with my life, and the education I have received has been valuable. Diversity is definitely vital; I completely agree with your last statement. That's why I already hold a degree in a non-aviation related field. I did my research so I knew what I was getting into and I have no regrets. How valuable someone else finds that education only they can say.
-
There are many universities that offer aviation degrees. Flight Science, Aeronautical Science, they are all the same and are not worth the paper they are printed on. You are better of getting your licenses on the side at a small flight school or maybe even in the colleges flight program but getting a degree that is not related to aviation to serve as a plan B. Being a pilot depends on your health and things happen in life that could end your flying career.
Starcon (Kurt) were you the one in the middle? This was pretty interesting! How did you feel afterwards?

Yeah thats me in the middle. As soon as the mask goes on the lights are back on... I do not remember the last 30sec to a 1min before I put my mask on.
