I'm a proud Canadian, and always will be. Vancouver 2010 was one of the saddest times on Canadian soil I've ever been a part of. And why? Because a father and mother lost their son after entrusting him to us. Ask yourself, what was his name? Don't google it, don't ask a friend, what was it? Almost as sad as this young mans death is that most people don't remember his name. Nodar Kumaritashvili, from Georgia. We celebrate medals, and forget the most precious of all things, life.

Canada put on a helluva Olympics. Most Canadians I've met are pretty nice and humble. They remind me of the folk where I'm from (Kansas).

This song just brings back amazing memories of the best 2 weeks (in my mind) in Canadian history. I have never been so patriotic in my life during these 2 weeks... everytime I came home I would watch the Olympics all day. My god I miss these Olympics so bad!

I was at the opening ceremonies. Easily my favourite memory of all the olympics. Gives me shivers every time i listen to it. We live in the best country in the world <3

@kygreywolf who do it better ???

@zenseek Honestly, she WAS terrific, but if you asked most Canadians, our most memorable moment?...It would most DEFINITELY be Sydney Crosby's game winner in Men's hockey in OT!!!

@zenseek She absolutely DOES have an amazing voice, eh??
Only an artist with the sensitivity of KD Lang -- with the ability to reflect the deep meaning of this piece of music from her own soul back to ours, can climb to this level of making the rest of us shiver in recognition.
For that, she is a gift to human kind.

The Canadians put on a Games with class, wit and self-depreciating humor. The competition was terrific but this was the single most memorable moment.
