Rick Barrett - Prayer Chain (original song about prayer)

This song is dedicated to all of the "prayer warriors" in our church and through out the rest of the world. Thanks you all for your prayers.

I know there are many conversations about God that many people uncomfortable...such as the concept of Divine Intervention...so some of you get ready to squirm. I can assure you (as many before me have claimed and many more in the future will claim) that I did not write this song, that I was merely a vessel for which it was passed through me and onto the paper in front or me.

Prayer warriors of the world, these are the prayer concerns I sent to our congregation today that served as inspiration for this song. Please pray for my friends if you got something out of this song.

I have a friend at work, Sherry that I have asked for prayers in the past due to her breast cancer. I should note due to prayer that her tumor shrunk BEFORE she started chemo and that prayer and chemo have continued to shrink her tumor, but I am resending a prayer request again because Sherry just sent me a text that her father just had a heart attack; Sherry requests that we "pray that God will do what's best for him". Please pray for Sherry, her father, and their entire family.

I have two best friends and one of them, Marty, I mentioned at the Thanksgiving Eve service. My other best friend, Jim, has a sister Nancy who is in her 40's that has cancer throughout her body and the doctors have given her 10 weeks to live. Nancy has loving husband and two young children that are pre-teens. Please pray that Nancy has minimal physical and emotional pain and that if it God's will that she may be live well beyond the 10 weeks given to her and even take Nancy's cancer away if it is in His plan. I got to see Nancy and her family yesterday including Jim and Nancy's father who is in his mid 80's (Jim and Nancy lost their mother to cancer several years ago) and their family is blessed with grandchildren who truly love to be around their parents, aunts and uncles, and their grandpa. Jim also has a lot of stress because he teaches in the inner city in the area. Most of that stress comes from the violence, drugs, and racial tension among Jim's students (the school is roughly a 1/3 white, a 1/3 African-American, and a 1/3 Hispanic-American and unfortunately the racial tension exists). Jim has at times almost unbearable pain from his teaching job and Nancy's cancer happening at the same time. Please surround Jim, Nancy, the entire family with your prayers. Also please pray for our schools, our principals, our teachers, and our students. Also please pray that racism and prejudice may be something that someday only exists in the history books of our students in the future.

Its raining here Rick.........but today Iam going to spend time reading bible.....eat ham i cooked thursday......yams and chestnuts.....and revisiting the many things I am thankful for.......and will continue praying for your friends........

My mother dies of breast cancer right after my husband............Sherry hopefully is seeking natural remedies to coexist with treatments....again turmeric is a spice.....i wish i could heal all

I am very sorry about the loss of your mother and husband...and now the stress of financial pressures. I will pray for a solution to your house situation.

In short.....each person will find a way to survive the loss....what is important that friends...family......just be the buffer and gently be mindful they stay on lifes path throughout grieving process......live or deceased....its easy to get sucked into grief and make bad choices

I did not do well after my husband died of cancer.......what helped most during the phases of cancer was having a few friends who could bare my agony.....agony soul deep.......so deep it broke my spirit.....and it the begining of why im in foreclosure........

I talked to buddy Jim last night and he was in better spirits...he pretty methodical about eating properly and getting enough sleep. I am more concerned for his mental state. Sherry is trying make plans on flying to see her father who just had the heatache while dealing with her breast cancer.

Thanks Rick.......At this point in time I just want it to be over..............thanks.....G­ODS WILL BE DONE.....also remind caregivers to their loved ones afflicted......to be mindful they eat....sleep...and do all they can to be sure they maintain......by experience I know they can lose sight of their own needs caring for loved one....
