Barclays Says Early Shortages but Quick Restock Bodes Well for New Motorola Droid X

In a note to clients, Barclays research said they believe that Motorola (NYSE:MOT) experienced very strong demand of the DROID X on its opening day yesterday at Verizon. Barclays said that its anecdotal checks, including several articles and the Verizon web site, indicate that Verizon was largely sold out of the device. Barclays also noted that its checks also indicate that most stores are expected to restock as early as next Monday. Verizon was also taking online orders, promising delivery within 24 hours initially but next Friday by the end of the day.

Overall, Barclays says that Motorola and Verizon (NYSE:VZ) have put great effort into managing the supply chain as to not limit demand with prolonged stock outs. Barclays expects most consumers are likely to be able to purchase a device in store next week.

The Droid X runs on Google's (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android mobile operating system.

@97VR4 dude fuck u and sprint there 4g coverage is as big as ur dick its virtually impossible 2 get 4g unless u live in a big city and plus the x has a 4$ case tht has a built in kick stand but the front facing cam is pretty cool evan the droid x has better video quality and faster internet and there 3g coverage is almost every where and there coverting 2 4g tht wont suck so much god damn dick fuck sprint like this if u think verizon cums in sprints face

EVO 4G outsold the Droid X in it's debut last month. Droid X has no kickstand, no front facing camera, no 4G network capability. A waste of money in my opinion. And the EVO 4G is a really cool smartphone. Sprint's service is excellent and tech support is there in a minute. Best service I have ever had, used to be with Verizon until last week. Sprints service plan is way better than Verizons. Check it out and compare.
