I'm Sorry my bad timing from 7:16 to 8:00

LYRICS:

"My son ask for thyself another
Kingdom, for that which I leave
is too small for thee"
(King Philip of Macedonia - 339 B.C.)

Near to the east
In a part of ancient Greece
In an ancient land called Macedonia
Was born a son
To Philip of Macedon
The legend his name was Alexander

At the age of nineteen
He became the Macedon King
And he swore to free all of Asia Minor
By the Aegian Sea
In 334 B.C.
He utterly beat the armies of Persia

[Chorus:]
Alexander the Great
His name struck fear into hearts of men
Alexander the Great
Became a legend 'mongst mortal men

King Darius the third
Defeated fled Persia
The Scythians fell by the river Jaxartes
Then Egypt fell to the Macedon King as well
And he founded the city called Alexandria

By the Tigris river
He met King Darius again
And crushed him again in the battle of Arbela
Entering Babylon
And Susa, treasures he found
Took Persepolis the capital of Persia

[Chorus:]
Alexander the Great
His name struck fear into hearts of men
Alexander the Great
Became a God amongst mortal men

A Phrygian King had bound a chariot yoke
And Alexander cut the 'Gordian knot'
And legend said that who untied the knot
He would become the master of Asia

Hellenism he spread far and wide
The Macedonian learned mind
Their culture was a western way of life
He paved the way for Christianity

Marching on, marching on
The battle weary marching side by side
Alexander's army line by line
They wouldn't follow him to India
Tired of the combat, pain and the glory

Alexander the Great
His name struck fear into hearts of men
Alexander the Great
He died of fever in Babylon

  • @snedden27 TAGMA..... is right Alexander helped to spread the very important greek culture in persia (this cutlure is the standard of any modern western culture) i don 't think you have any idea on how important this culture has been through history and yes... christiantity. Obviously Alexander didn't believe in christianity. but his contributions where great.

  • who cares about fyrom??even alexander will played air guitar with this song!!relax greeks an fyrom friends!!metal unites!!!!!

  • played this for my class good history

  • @TAGMATAGMATON first of all STOP SCREAMING,secondly like I said Alexander spread Hellenism if a thousand year later a byzantine king decides to have Christianity as his state religion how can you credit Alexander for ?.are you going to credit everything the Romans and Byzantine, also Europe,Russia?(Russian tzars were inspired from Romans and Europeans)

  • @snedden27 O.K. l will give another chance to get it. READ MY PREVIOUS COMMENT ONCE AGAIN! Try to emphasise to the words "FOOL", "IDIOT" and "ILLITERATE IGNORANT" and you will find out the crucial role that the GREEK LANGUAGE itself and NOT Alexander helped the expansion of crhistianity. And for the kids reading this: NO,ALEXANDER WAS NOT CHRISTIAN before Christ and HE had nothing to do with christianity other than spreading greek laguage which LATER became the language of the Holly Gospel.

  • @TAGMATAGMATON I say it once again Christianity would had spread anyways, one question you should ask yourself did Alexander championed Christianity ?NO!!!!,then why are you pathetically concern on the any affiliation of Alexander and Christianity, the truth is you are a narrow minded person you want to see the greats of history to have something in common with your culture and if they don't you try to find some small strings to bend history in such a way that fits ur ego,

  • @snedden27 You fool! You idiot! You illiterate ignorant! I was very clear apbout greek language and its effect on readind and spreading the holly gospell since romans themselves for example had greek as their second language just as english now days. Even the post on Jesus cross was written in jewish (local),roman (official) and GREEK as common to all. The language provided ACCESS to the gospel to WHOMEVER wanted to follow Jesus's teaching, not enforced christianity. How hard is it to understand?

  • @TAGMATAGMATON The main force behind the campaing was the will of alexander himself ,Jesus was not even born then, alexander spread hellenism or greek culture but christinity was mainly spread by constantine and later by independant kingdoms (france, england, italy ) in the dark ages, your theory that greek language and culture helped spread christinaity is wrong as alexander capture india bactria, afghanistan too are they christians today?or ever were in history ?NO!,got it now?

  • @snedden27 Greek's primary objective of Alexander's campain to the east, was to free the lonian cities that suffered under persian occupation. and very often rebeled with tremendous cosiquences.Secondary, to eliminate the persian threat once and for all. As for christianity the answer is obvious. The greek language that prevailed as a common tool of communication among the nations of the area ever since, became the easy way to spread Jesus' words to the world at the Roman period. GOT IT NOW?
