The first time I noticed this beauty was back in early 1982 (I just turned 18) when the NY Post showed a shot of her performing in that see through body suit bent over a chair (from the side, In NINE) and my eyes just popped out...I don't think I've ever forgot that... I think that she has been one of the sexyest actresses I've ever seen...
I remember that Broadway musical was unbelieveably popular in the press and I think it was because of her striking performance...

I just watched Ruthless People on cable. Everytime I see it I think of her. She was quite a talent and gone far too soon. I can never see Bill Pullman as the president in Independence Day or as Meg Ryan's fiance in Sleepless in Seattle without thinking of the moron that he played next to her in Ruthless People. I think that this is one of the most underrated films ever.

Mr. Dale,
Your wife was simply amazing. We play this number for our friends at parties quite often. Both of us remember seeing this special when it aired and we love WOW'ing newbies by showing them what a real singing actress can do. We also love that old friends still say to us at parties "Can we have a little Anita tonight?"

amazing how Anita Morris was never a 'household name'. Understanding America's infactuation with beauty, brains, and talent. She was the entire package, and probably one of the sexiest women to grace Broadway, TV, and the, Silver Screen. RIP Anita Morris, and thanks for the memories

LOVE this woman! Just the right amount of sexy, playful, and hilarious. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Plus, those pipes! Good Lord! What a voice she had! This clip is a true treasure and showstopper!

Yes I was. And even luckier that we shared parenting a son...(Badge) He's going to be seen all over HBO and AMC in the spring of 2010 starring in two series : "Rubicon" and "The Pacific." Anita is still smiling down on us.

Anita is amazing! I've long admired her based solely on the recordings of Nine and The Magic Show, so it truly is a pleasure to see her in this performance! Does anyone know what the song she's singing is? I've never heard it before, and she is just stunning singing it. A true talent, a true star.

The song is "I'm Cravin' For That Kind Of Love" written by Eubie Blake.
The performance you've just watched happened during the dress rehearsal. A very smart producer recognized a show-stopper when he saw and inserted it into the final cut.

The TV show was amazing and this performance was a highlight. I have been looking for this clip since I bought my first VCR 25 years ago. Thank you so much. I've loved Anita since "Nine."

Anita was always nervous about first performances. Seconds before this one, I pleaded with her that whatever happens onstage not to stop. "Keep going no matter what!" The malfunction you see here is the result of her honoring that request.
