This is a lovely slow foxtrot recorded by famed violinist and composer Georges Boulanger for Odeon in 1935. The track is from the 1933 French movie "Remous", directed by Edmond T. Greville and starring Françoise Rosay, Jean Galland and Jeanne Boitel. It was released in German cinemas in 1935 as "Liebe".
The composer Albert Sendrey (1911-2003) was a prolific composer and arranger. The son of Hungarian born opera singer and composer Alfred Sendrey and a Viennese opera singer, he studied at the Leipzig conservatory and the Trinity College of Music in London. He essentially worked in Hollywood, mainly for MGM in the 1940's.
The theme of the video is a visit to the UFA Studios in Babelsberg in the 1930's combined with images of popular actresses under contract to UFA of the mid 1930's from my personal collection, such as Lilian Harvey, Marta Eggerth, Dorothea Wieck, Camilla Horn, Brigitte Helm, Renate Müller, Käthe von Nagy, Pola Negri,Lien Deyers, the young Marika Rökk, Magda Schneider and others... (if you would like to know who is who, just ask).
