1970 Opel GT restoration. Body was stripped, media blasted, repaired and repainted. All rubber components (bushings, weatherstrip etc.) replaced. Engine rebuilt. Replaced low compression pistons with flat top pistons. Installed ISKY cam, optic ignition, larger intake valves, weber carburetor, and headman husler header. Rebuilt brakes, resealed transmission and differential. ... basically there isn't a single part of this car that wasn't touched.
I owned a 1970 for 7 years drove it cross country 2x I loved her. I will add she was ass light and I had 2 heart stopping moments once on snow and one one wet surface, but she was fun to drive. The windows were a pain when they would go off track, and the rear secondary muffler with its two rubber rings were a fault, but I loved her. I now drive an all wheel drive BMW 3 series best handling car I have ever driven. I still have a soft spot for my red 1970 Opel GT

Funny that I see an Opel GT in America, here in Holland there are plenty of them. Keep up the good work.

@DntHteSK8 I was thinking it would be cool if you threw in a Hemi and made it a gasser

What is the Ideal engine to put in this car? I have heard a lot of different things about this car. I have been thinking about maybe a 3.4L V6. Advice, or some suggestions would be awesome!

I'm in process with my 72 GT right now. I think Opel GT Source must love me!
