for gamers there's cedega.. i use it with ubuntu, and my games (warcraft3 and oblivion are the most-played) surprisingly run a bit better than in XP... cedega costs just as much as a game does, it's worth it..

I might try Ubuntu again when this becomes stable and default. Have Edgy on another machine. But unfortunately Linux is not well suited as a Desktop OS overall, and for various reasons not suitable for me, esp for lack of Adobe apps, colour management, etc.

no, but they could be ;)

actually, people like quick fixes and with linux you have to search for your fixes which can take a lot of time

i personally would never go back to windows if i had a choice. but if i want to keep the games, i'll either have to wait for wine to support them or get an educational vista from a college class

btw, Compiz is awesome! too bad my borders don't show up >.>

that70boy: That's because you need to install emerald:
sudo apt-get install emerald
And run compiz with:
compiz --replace -c emerald &

Compiz does kick vista's butt :)
