Go look at the interview videos after the match. Williams feigns ignorance of what she did or apoligizes. If you have ever had to deal with those of her ilk on the street her behavior is typical.

wow! where is the goddamn love for every race? i don't think it is proper to relate this incident to race. it's all about sportsmanship and good attitude. evidently, serena williams failed on both last night. regardless of color, it is not acceptable to lash out on somebody last night.
and let's get this clear, she lost because of the point penalty she got from the verbal violation....not because of the foot fault.
it's a shame that she admitted to nothing during the press conference.
