The Stars took on the Sidekicks in game 7 of the 1987 Major Indoor Soccer League finals in the Tacoma Dome before the largest crowd ever to see an indoor soccer game in the U.S. -- a record that I believe still stands.

  • That was such a sad choke job, I was listening on the radio and my little boy heart got crushed.

  • it sure is crazy how this game changed the whole landscape of indoor soccer.you have team in Tacoma that was loaded with 4 40 goal scorers a crowed stadium full to the max with 21,728 (correction KSCOTT24) Dallas was the NEW bred Tacoma and the rest of the league would never recover money wise and would all come to an end in 1992

  • The MISL glory days when indoor soccer was at it's best. We're doing our best in East Texas to bring the small sided game back. Thanks for the share!

  • DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE HELL I DO FOR A LIVING!!!

  • I'll never forget that night. I was 13 at the time and didn't know a whole lot about the Sidekicks. I didn't even know they were in the playoffs! That late Saturday night I was randomly flipping through the channels and came upon the game on HSE when the score was 3 to 1. I was like "WOW, the Sidekicks are in the championship?" Minuets later I felt the Sidekicks had no chance so I turned off the television and went to bed. The next morning I became a big fan of the Sidekicks!!!!

  • The most dramatic finish to a playoff series in MISL history; Hollywood couldn't have scripted it better. Playing in front of an indoor soccer record crowd of 21, 721 in the Tacoma Dome, the Sidekicks were two goals down with less than 3 minutes left, score twice using the sixth attacker, then win it in an epic sudden death overtime on "The Deflection" by Mark Karpaun. Truly, a game and series for the ages--the Sidekicks may be gone, but they'll never be forgotten.

  • This is something I will never ever forget as long as I live, and its been almost 25 yrs ago. In my opinion, this is THE BEST SPORTS MOMENT EVER IN DALLAS HISTORY! PERIOD! Even better than ANY Cowboy Super Bowl win, or the Stars winning the cup. The Kicks overcame all odds.....barely able to play in the league, being a road team for all series in the playoffs, then 3-1 down with 2:48 left, to score 2 goals with a 6th attacker, and win in OT....like Smudger Kevin Smith said.....UNBELIEVABLE!

  • These guys are European aren't they? Most of them look like it.

  • @TexasDawg3 Eat me, texassdoggie.

  • Suck it, Tacoma.
