My personal altitude record with my HobbyZone Super Cub LP. Altitude was measured with a small Xport altimeter from "thexportzone." The video was recorded with the Nikon Coolpix S570 from inside the airplane.

  • is the side of the wing the best place to mount the cam?

  • @ox141jf it is actually inside the airplane looking out a hole just big enough for the lens to fit through and sealed with window shrink wrap. It is protected inside, the added weight in the center makes the plane a little more stable, especially in wind. The foam also keeps the inside of the plane at about room temp, which is good on really cold days.

  • wut is your trick to getting it that high

  • @1airhogs Trim the plane so it climbs smoothly at nearly full power. Keep it at that power setting and all you have to do is turn left or right, the plane should almost fly itself.

  • How were you able to see the plane! You must have really good eyesight. Cool video!

  • @jbfoamies At that altitude it is barely even a dot so you have to always watch the plane and guess what it is doing up there. If the "dot's" direction is arcing to the left or right it is probably banking to the left or right (or the wind is stronger up there and you have to increase bank/crab to make it go straight) Sometimes I use binoculars but they can just more problems sometimes.

  • Very nice video! I love my Super Cub.. Thanks for posting!

  • Great video man! Where did you get the altimeter for the xport?? Keep making great videos, Please take a few moments to view my super cub vids! Search my user name pmm4177 Thanks again

  • Looks very nice. I've just bought a super cub lp and will film like you did but with my ipod touch 4 :) it should be nice because the ipod is very thin.

  • were you using the stock transmitter/receiver???

  • @mbaseballpro2 did u trim it right?

  • Nice video. Were you using the stock receiver/ESC combo thingy, or did you upgrade? What transmitter did you use? I have been trying my own version of this with the stock receiver and a DX6i. I get range issues a lot lower than 2000ft.

  • Nice looking cub. So is it hard to distingish the flashing light for each number on the altimeter from the xportzone you bought if from. Looks pretty cool. Videos are so much better when you use a real camera. I put on my Fujifilm XP10 and shoots great vids from above. I'm guessin you had to move your esc around to fit the camera inside too, smart ideal.

  • ¡GREAT!

  • hi i hav the super cub lp and it gets tossed around in the air any thoughts
