  • "/ here’s an interesting contradiction a YouTuber giving advice to aspiring writers and a glowing review of the Amazon Kindle ....lol a little paraphrasing 'the ink on the screen is amazing it's just like the ink on a page!' It saddens me so much that Britain has only one book shop chain left on the High Street and all the while Amazon e books spread the world like a virus. But I think it will come full circle and people will collect books again there's nothing like a bookshelf of old friends:)

  • @andschannll I'm not quite sure why you think it's contradictory of me to recommend the Kindle to aspiring writers. I love real books as much as anyone. I still buy books, but I use my Kindle mainly to collect those that are offered for free (last week I downloaded five books about the craft of writing while they were free for a limited time). To pretend that ebooks don't exist does writers more harm than good. The Kindle is a great addition to a paper library, not a total replacement.

  • I`ve just read Daisychains of silence on kindle by Catherine MacLoed,I think it`s very good, would like to know what you think.

  • You need a booklight for the Kindle. I find the screen quite dark and if you're in a dim room it seems even darker. A book light is a must I'd say.

  • downloaded... not uploded

  • @RandomPeaceGirlRocks Try searching for Amazon's "limited time offers" or search for classics by name to see if they're free on Amazon. If they're not free on Amazon, you can still get them from other places like Project Gutenberg or ManyBooks. Hope this helps!

  • @writeitsideways Oh cool :) I think I am going to start on the classics too just because they are such great books and better yet they are free :) Thank you so mcuh for sharing your information with me that is so nice! :) So I just have one more question...Is there like a kindle store where you download your books or to you get your books off of amazon?

  • @RandomPeaceGirlRocks To be honest, I haven't paid for any ebooks yet because I'm still working my way through all of the free ones! The classics are always good (and free). It's possible to read a little faster on the Kindle because you can increase the font, but I wouldn't say I read a whole lot faster on it.

  • @writeitsideways Thank you :) So what kind of books do you reccomend on your kindle and do you think that you read faster on the kindle vs. the hardback book?
