  • Absolutely amazing and beautiful.

  • does anyone have a link to the version of Turn turn turn that plays in the intro? I've been looking and all I can find is live version, but this seems to be done in a studio or something else. I love this movie and I have to a write a paper about Pete for my sociology class, don't know how I'm not going to write a book on the guy.

  • why is everyone talking about Pete in past tense!

Thanks so much for the upload, this is great. Pete's joy for life is infectious, I've got a big smile on my face :)

  • He deserves the Nobel Peace Prize

  • Thanks for posting this. I was aware that Pete seeger is an important figure in American culture, but this made me even more aware of this. Very moving and inspiring , thanks.

  • I love Pete Seeger he is the Father of folk music. Im also a huge weaver fan and hoping they make a american masters on them too. they were great

  • Lyrics TO MY OLD BROWN EARTH Pete Seeger To my old brown earth And to my old blue sky I'll now give these last few molecules of "I." And you who sing, And you who stand nearby, I do charge you not to cry. Guard well our human chain, Watch well you keep it strong, As long as sun will shine. And this our home, Keep pure and sweet and green, For now I'm yours And you are also mine. Watch and you will cry happy, hopeful tears too.
  • An amazing presentation of a great man and his contribution to America. I cried happy, hopeful tears as I watched and was especially moved to learn how the building of a boat helped to save the mighty Hudson River from destruction. It was the first time I heard the song "To My Old Brown Earth." Wonderful! Watch and you will cry happy, hopeful tears too!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting. I hope PBS doesn't take it down because the story of how ONE person CAN make a difference should be heard by everyone. I so admire the man for always sticking to his convictions, even when they were far from popular. We have been blessed to live in the time of Pete Seeger and we should all learn from his example.

  • @andmeband

The whistling (and the banjo playing before it) is from a song called "Living In The Country". I don't know if pete wrote it or not, but he sure plays it beautifully. :)
