Ella read her first word out-loud at 19 months. By the age of 3 she was reading at a 2nd grade level. She was allowed to start kindergarten at the age of 4 because she was ready academically. Now, at the age of 6, she is able to read almost anything she likes.
Ella has Down syndrome.
She is using a combination of sign language, vocalizations, and spoken words to read in this video. If you don't know sign language; each gesture she does as she reads a card is the sign for that word.
She is so stinkin' cute!
