My first cutting with my scythe. What amazed me was the sheer mass of grass that resulted. My property hosts a variety of grasses, the most dominant being wild bermuda grass. It stands but is willowy which made it challenging to learn how to cut it. When there are several types of grass on the land some fall with the scythe coming in at one angle and others respond to a somewhat different angle. During the cutting process you become aware of the differences and also that you will not end up with the classic monocut that a mower gives. It is wonderful to move a scythe across the ground and watch and listen as the grasses are cut. Using this implement definitely enhances integration into residential permaculture.
What blade did you buy, it look like the bush blade, but your grass looks nice short and even. What peening equipment are you using?
