@HardKnocks60 Yeah, that was a bitch. If I hadn't been able to repair it, I would have had to salvage one from another set.

I'm sure that you're happy to wrap up the repairs on this set, I too hate having to undo sloppy repairs performed by less then competent service men, no doubt that contributed to the failure of the vertical output transformer. It makes me wonder how well these set perfomed when they left the factory, did they always have the ringing problem and the retrace lines? Were they as well aligned as you made it? I guess it's onto the Predicta overhaul before long?

@OlegKostoglatov Good question. Clearly the ringing was a service issue way back then and they did add the filter to later production runs. Hard to believe they were selling sets with visible bars though.
I'd like to start on the Predicta, but I made a New Year's resolution to complete some of my many unfinished projects first :D

Probably a wise move, after working on one tough set it would be good to work on something less frustrating before taking on another potential tough customer like a Predicta. So what unfinished projects will you be taking on next, more TV stuff, radio, or something else? I've been working on repairing eight track cartridges to sharpen up my dexterity, I want to make an attempt at making a voice coil, form and all.

@OlegKostoglatov First up an Admiral 20X122 TV I started on 3 years ago! It's one of the first vintage sets I picked up and I'm rather fond of it. It's been neglected for far too long. After that, I want to get back to the Philco 643 and a Philco 39-30 I don't think I ever showed in a video.
Good luck with the voice coil. I've been contemplating making one for my Philco 70.

I think I saw your Philco 39-30 in one of your past videos while looking for the Admiral 20X122, it was called "Spring Tour 2010". It was one of those slope fronted sets with the rubber wiring sitting on a Philco 37-10X. Is the 20X122 that's coming up the same one as that empty floor model cabinet or is it a different one?

@OlegKostoglatov Yes, that's the 39-30. The upcoming 20X122 is a different one. I had it shipped all the way from Omaha, NE a few years ago. It was missing a couple knobs but otherwise intact including the internal antenna and metal back.
