An attempt was made to remove part of the steeple of this church, but the lifting straps that the contractor used snapped, resulting in the steeple falling onto the church roof and causing some serious damage to this landmark in Swellendam, Western Cape, South Africa
Question, were suitable certified lifting slings used for this job, and if so, was the issue taken up with the sling manufacturers? If not, what type of straps were used? We have seen this same helicopter do a heavy lift, more than six tons, at an air show, and no slings broke there, it also appears that the sling dangling out of the helicopter was not damaged at all in the videos on this channel. Comment this please!!!
the building contractors had nothing to do with this. the straps broke loose and no one is to blame
