February 13, 2009: 4 trains in 25 minutes at the mega junction of two lines; CP Rail 164 and NS trains 502, 212, and 211 are so close, trains are moving the same way on both tracks at the same time; in fact, between 502, 212, and CP 164 (NS 30J), the tracks were completely filled!

Location background: CP Wyomissing Junction, aptly named after the suburb of Wyomissing, is 2 miles due west of Reading, PA, and is the starting point of the connection track which turns into the Reading Line at CP Dunkle (2000 feet east). The Harrisburg Line continues the other way at CP Dunkle. Main one and two track do continue east at CP Wyomissing Jct. to form the "High Line" which goes directly into Reading Yard, which also splits and forms a wye at CP Oley (towards the Reading Yard and Reading Line) and CP Walnut (towards the NS Harrisburg Line to Philadelphia)... yeah I know it's a lot to get inside your head, Reading is pretty much a maze of railroad tracks. By the way, few trains use the "High Line" (although 502 went that way in this video) because there are height restrictions with prevent auto, stack, or higher-than-a-cube box cars.
Man I love how 212's power just HAPPENS to be right in front of you when 502's loads clear, and that the 30J just HAPPENED to be parked with nothing but tables in front of you when the 211 went west, not sure how much luck you had that morning.

It started out good, but I failed a chase with the 30J. I was about 6 miles ahead of it and I got lost. :-/

Am I hearing Dynamics on 502?
trainutjob 3 years ago
Yeah, all eastbound trains typically go by CP Wyomissing Jct in dynamics because they are going from 50 MPH to 25 MPH with a Medium-Approach-Medium signal.
