  • are these indian ring necks?

  • Actually, they are baby parrotlets. It's the smallest species of true parrot. See the squared tail as opposed to a long tail that ringneck would have. Additionally, ringnecks have a brightly colours beak where as parrotlets have a beige tone beak. Also, parrotlets are the size of a love bird where the ringnecks are the size of a cockateil. Hope this helps.

  • @SurvivingLove I would think that if the parrotlets are as big as lovebirds... How would they be the smallest..?

  • @ItsPaperDontJudgeMe *ABOUT* the size of lovebirds as most people haven't seen a Parrotlet in person and don't have anything to compare it to and the videos don't show their size very well..so for comparison "about the size of a lovebird" is the closest comparison I could think of, though Parrotlets are smaller.

  • Cute. How are they different from parakeets...other than the cost and the sound they make.

  • The aggressive part is the biggest thing to be aware of. I've fostered many parrotlets that were missing toes b/c of altercations with other parrotlets. CT3i is right. They are small and the parakeet similarities end there. They are sweet and cuddly when socialized properly and can be wonderful pets, but certainly, not for the faint of heart. :)

    awwwwww <3

  • They're so fluffy I'm gonna diiiieee! <3

  • I can certainly concur that they are not for the fainthearted. We have three, but one (Nigel) has to be kept seperately. The other two get on fine but bullied him. Nigel himself is a terrorist, and regularly threatens to bite our heads off if only he could open his little beak wide enough! I love them to bits but they are a bit trying. They are smaller than lovebirds and are not parakeets but parrots.
