  • What's with using the deck gun on a small brush fire? Talk about a waste of water!

  • It was initially dispatched as a unknown type fire, so the engine went first out. The area of fire that the deck gun hit was the largest part, coupled with the high winds that day the chief was worried about spreading faster then we could contain it.

  • The deck gun was on for less than 10 seconds, and prob. used less than 35 gal of water...got a good body of fire knocked down before the other brush units got there...I say good use of it and great vid...nice rigs!!

  • the 6x6 is the way to do it, don't use a deck gun, blow all that water and still have fire to tend with , with an empty truck.

  • when a brush fire gets called out you gotta respond pretty quick. im a fire warden with the new jersey forest fire service and with the wind it could be a seious situation. never take a wildland fire lightly. seen to many changes in the weather which causes the fire to change rapidily.

  • where is this located

  • Nice rigs and good response.

  • omg im tired of reading my dept this my dept that my god it got the job done right so stop bitching

  • Ok two things right off the bat why are enigines in the way let the brush units do there job I member getting caught behind a engine on a field fire one time I was in a brush truck we had to wait for that engine to get out of the way I say the

  • engines need to be in a staging area for water ops only not to fight the brush fire What if a house was in the danger zone you have a engine there but hes tied up trying to put a brush fire out. And 2nd why use the Cannon on top of the engine thats alot of water going out at one time he use alot of uneeded water if you ask me.

  • what ever it takes to get the job done we could have used deck guns for sure on a 50 acre woods fire we had last june to protect structures at least lol great vid.

  • my dept wouldnt use the deck gun unless it was big...we jus used weed beaters and booster hose...or we jus stomp it out lol
