We Were Once Perfect... [Preview. Feedback Desperately Needed!]

Alright!
This is one of three videos I'm working on at the moment.
It's...just something I need to do for myself.
I'm not going to go into explaining right now.
I don't know if I'll be able to when the full video is done, never mind just a beta-like thing...

Why I'm uploading what I have done, though, is because this is very important to me.
I don't want to look back and this and think "EW, THAT SUCKS!" like I do with most of my videos.
And I'm kind of doing that with this already.
Mainly, I feel like there're too many effects...
(Maybe too many crappy ones.)
I originally didn't have them because I wanted this to be simple, but it felt way too empty.
So I started adding, but now I'm not sure.

So, this is here 'cause I want your opinion on them.
Or anything else you see, really.
Before you start, though, I am aware there are some things that need to be fixed.
I'm just going to list them to make it easier on us...

0:00 - 0:10: Opening Cookie Cutters;;
I'm not sure about them.
There definitely needed to be something there for the timing, but I don't know if they're too blunt or not...

0:15 - 0:31: TV & Keyframing;;
The TV Simulator I'm not too sure of.
I made the preset myself, and I think it fits with the sounds...
But I'm still not sure if the whole TV thing is totally inappropriate anyway.
That's just the only thing I know to do like that.
I'm also not sure if I should include them on the last two beats or not...
They felt like too much, but now I don't know if it feels like a gap...
Also, I'm aware the last bit of the keyframing is a bit sudden.
I'll work on that. It's the first time I've ever messed with it, though, so forgive me.

0:31 - 0:37: Layering;;
I don't think the layering is too bad...
But I feel like I'm abusing it.
What do you think?

0:37 - 0:41: Cookie Cutter & Keyframing;;
That keyframing is better, I think...
I'm not too sure about the cookie cutter.
I got it as soft as I could, but it still feels a little rough to me.

0:46 - 0:49: Color Corrector;;
To be honest, I don't even know how I did that. xD
I was just messing around with the "red midtones" and it totally went hue effect on me...
I'm aware that that transition needs to be longer, though, so you don't have to tell me.
I just can't see these things before I render because my computer is a piece of crap. x3
I don't know if I should crop that at all, though...
Maybe move Kairi off to the side or something?
Or maybe focus more on the eyes...?

0:49 - 0:52: Layering;;
Again, not sure if I'm abusing it.
I know I put a fade out on that, but it doesn't seem to be there, does it?
Maybe Vegas undid it on me again.
Either that or I'll lengthen it...

0:52 - 0:58: Keyframing;;
..Yeahhh. Wicked, wicked unsure of that.
That's all I can say about it. :)

0:58 - 1:02: Lighting;;
That stupid Secret Waterway is so dark...
I tried to lighten it so the "river" was visible, but it's way too white...
I tried to ease that up by adding more contrast, but it made Kairi stick out like BAM UNNATURAL PIXELS OMG WTF.
So I don't know what to do with that...
That fade should probably be longer, too, huh...?

1:02 - 1:10: ...Scene?;;
There you can see my original simplicity sticking in.
I'm planning to do more with that line as the song progresses, but it just repeats it a lot...
And as I didn't want to overload on effects, I left it simple.
Is that TOO simple, though?

1:10 - 1:13: Iris;;
OMG THIS IS A TRAINWRECK.
You don't have to tell me.
Timing on Vegas with this computer is all but IMPOSSIBLE.
It won't let me play my project, so I have to scroll through frames to see anything...
And if I hit "pause", it doesn't stop.
It stops about four seconds later.
Not much, but in the world of timing, that's like, an hour off.
As you can clearly see by that awful, awful part. Uck.
I'm going to work on fixing it, though.
As long as you don't think that whole idea was crappy in the first place?
I don't know how it matches up with the beginning, either...

1:13 - 1:22: Transitions & Layering;;
Yes, I know I have to fix that so Sora gets his face out of there before it's wanted.
I don't think that's a very good clip of Kairi...
But it was the only one I could think of her in KHII looking sad.
That I hadn't used yet, anyway...
I'unno.
That audio is kind of a mess, too.
STUPID KAIRI THEME, GET OUT OF THERE.
If I lower it more, though, the voices get all muddy...

Eh...
I don't think any of this is nearly good enough. x3
Am I being too hard on myself, or am I right?
Both happen pretty frequently...

Anyone who takes time to comment and give me feedback will make me happier than they can imagine. x3

00:42-00:47 seemed...I'm not sure. I thought the zoom into her mouth seemed too abrupt and it didn't flow well for me.

I loved how you made her red though. It seemed to go well and you pulled it off.

That's really all I can find to pick at. I didn't like 00:57 at first but I watched the video again and it fit. So I'm not sure about that part.

It's a bit of a pathetic idea, probably, but if you want the cookie cutter effects to look less "blunt", then try making them opaque or whatever the word is. XD Like, sort of half see through. Sorta.

I really like the TV effects, they were really fitting to me. I loved the cookie cutters in the beginning and the middle then again I love the cookie effects in the first place so ^^" The only part I didn't like alot was at 0:46, I like the first two parts before that, but I don't like the third 'ahhh' part. Anyways I really like it so far, can't wait to see the finished version. Sorry about the late comment and nice tags for the video. Wow, long comment sorry ^^"

this is awesome, and you need to get that!!

i actually think you SHOULD focus more on the eyes during 0:46-0:49. . . they r still a bit of a blue-ish hue. and the whole "inside out again" , maybe you could do a fade back into the original not-upside-down clip. Keep the cookie cutter, it is a really good touch with the song. Other than that, it is absolute awesome-ness.... 5 stars so far!!

I just wanted to let you know that I really like the amvs you make. You're too hard on yourself, but I can understand since I too am a perfectionist.

Anyhow, about this particular video. I really like the cookie cutter effects in the beginning. I do believe the only thing I find a bit odd is the part at 0:57. But otherwise its good. ^.^
