    Speaking to an "Agnostic"

Q: Do you go to college or not?

    A: I don't have a PHD

The reason I put Agnostic in quotes is because not all Agnostics misunderstand belief this way. But the ones that do, do not recognize that knowledge is a subset of belief (just as people with PHD's are a subset of those who attend college) and therefore, an answer of knowledge isn't helpful when being asked a question of belief.

It simply doesn't answer the question.

It's funny how people like Avloppsbrunn claim neil know's more of what he is talking about just because of his position. Yet they are falling in the same trap that most theist's do and that is adhering to authority.

Is it just me? Or are half the comments people trying to explain the video, when no one asked?

Alot of people feel if they label themself a atheist, it's like they have to wear a shirt with a big A on it or something. It is very dishonest when i see people kick and scream and try to avoid being labeled a atheist when theist and atheist is the only two option's anyone can be on the claim of a god. Atleast your honest though, but it's not like you have to wear and/or sponser atheism or even mention you are atheist, unless asked directly what you believe.

I think that Mattew Dillahunty could teach Neil something about how atheism and agnosticism aren't mutually exclusive, but I agree with him that it's odd that we have the word "atheist". More specifically, I think it's odd that we almost HAVE TO have the word "atheist". I DO refer to myself as an atheist, but the reason that I do so is because the OVERWHELMING majority of people are theists, and I wish to be dissassociated from them on the subject of theistic claims.

it isn't being a hypocrite, it's being dishonest with yourself. he's afraid of the negative baggage that comes with being called an atheist. it's his choice but i would like to think that most scientists don't care what religious people think about their beliefs
