Mr. Shatner, I know how to get you into the next Star Trek movie. J.J. Abrams could have the movie begin with the clone of Kirk from your novel series "The Return", and have the clone Kirk, in command of the USS Belle Reve, go back in time to rescue the old Spock and bring him back to his native time period. At some point they could give a brief synopsis of your novel series to explain how the old Kirk has come back to life, so to speak. Kirk WOULD do this. It is not far fetched. Whaddia think?

Wow, he seems a little bit bitter.

@MaxamillionGat Scotty's dead too

@McflyMcMurderface They couldn't have been at his side...though I agree that generations was crap. Kirk said it to them in Star Trek V "I've always known I'll die alone." Just another fact against Generations cuz he wasn't alone...

I personally don't understand why it's so hard for these people to #bringbackkirk...It's Star Trek..there's always possibilities. For example; Whoopi Goldberg's character was in the nexus and on the Enterprise (as far as I can tell she never traveled there with Picard so she must be in both). So, why couldn't the new Kirk and company stumble upon the nexus and bring Original Kirk out? Then he could go on living in the new future as Spock does.

Actually his idea of bringing Kirk back makes perfect sense, I've been wondering why they didn't use transporter technology to keep people young since I was a kid, bringing a person back to life isn't much harder. Still killing Kirk off the way they did didn't make much sense either.

@WeEatBrainz are you kidding, given that the plot heavily revolves around time travel is an easy write in add. they brought sigourney weaver back in alien 4 lol.

@Starry2000 lol @babylon 5. everyone ripping of nolan and batman begins with weak mediocre reboots and nolan is copying micheal bay with transformers. i personaly thought star trek has been kind of dumbed down to star trek for dumb jocks rather than roddenberrys humanistic vision. id give the reboot a c-. hated the score, star trek II-4 rules (and first contact). they need to badly return to the goldsmith/horner score that made the first 4 movies terrific. or the old classic tv score.

I don't think he should've been in the movie. He shouldn't overshadow the new cast, he wouldn't fit in the plot without it being a cameo. Having one old character play an important role was good enough
damn can you believe he is turning 80 this year I'd say just on looking at him first glance he is in his late 40's early 50's
