  • what's the name of this son plz

  • @mad69martigan Stealin' by Uriah Heep

  • I was living in a house near Scarborough North Yorkshire with Mick Hill guitarist and Ken Cook bassist. One day This cool Kiwi Knocked on the door With a Fender jazz on his back. "Heard you was musos" He grinned "Any chance I could crash?" He stuck around for the summer playin with the local bands. He went down to London and I saw him again at the "Speak easy" with "The New Nadir" a great three piece. Hendrix was there that night in the audience along with Kit Lambert. Was gutted when he died.

  • @rivedxx Would love to get some more info from you. I am part of Gary's family and we are putting a loit of info about his life together.

  • @dt1708 sorry been off line a lot due to the recent earthquakes here.

Where are youy located, i am in in Christchurch NZ.

I have a heap of info with a lot coming from my Aunty Rita (Gary's Mum)

  • It's funny seeing this today as I just picked up the double live Uriah Heep lp today at Goodwill for $1. I met Gary in London back in 1973. Very friendly guy without any rock star pretensions. He brought the double live lp over to where i was staying as it had just come out. Saw him once a year or so later in NYC. The next time I heard about him was when he died. Glad to see that he is so fondly remembered. Good guy!

  • He was a very humble guy as you say. His daughter is going to see Uriah Heep in New York in a few weeks I believe for the first time.

  • @harvey1954 I was curious if Gary's death was what put David Byrons drinking on the fast track to destruction. It sems like when Gary passed is when the band started to fall apart. Gary was an extremely talented guy and the bands history has certainly been of great interest to me. God rest his soul. He was awesome for sure.

  • He was probably the most appreciated Heep member.

  • love these pics, love watching the concert videos of Gary movin all over the stage, singing w Mick..havin a blast...he looks so happy... love listenin for his sound...what a great talent...just the best rock bass player...

  • the best rock bassist there ever was Mr. Gary Thain

  • URIAH YEAH!

  • seen him loved him, miss him

  • GARY IS GOD OF BASS

  • I was fortunate enough to see Heep live in Seattle in 1972 I believe it was. I was three rows back so it was up close and personal. Gary's stage presence was fantastic. Had a hard time watching the rest of the band. The concert was great, Gary was great. Looked like he was having a good time. He was all over the stage. Thank you Gary and Heep for one of my fondest memories.

    R.I.P Gary
