The Grand, is left in ruin in New Orleans East just off I-10. I took a quick walk through the lobby and filmed it. A good location for a horror flick hence my heavy breathing. This was shot 2 weeks before the 4 year anniversary of Katrina

  • Dumb Question: Why is all of the glass broken out of the windows ? Looters , Hurricane ??

  • I'm betting the storm didn't do al that damage. Looters did most of it.

  • May good things come to New Orleans in 2012!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! May God bless!!

  • Even if they were to rebuild, it'd still be costly... and demolition would also help save money on having to worry about repairing, rebuilding, and also be cleaner because with it being unused for so many years now.. you just know that there are mice, roaches, snakes, spiders, and no telling what else inhabiting these places.... very scary to think of. It's heart-breaking to see so many places that could be useful to make revenue for the city, just sitting in ruins.

  • Is this located near Six Flags New Orleans?? It's always sad to see buildings like this sitting vacant. Seems like they would just go ahead and demolish them, as it would cost more to repair and try to salvage them, due to the water damage, which would have caused mold to form.

  • Those video and pinball machines in the game room looked sort of intact. You could have hauled those things out and sold then for a couple grand each (or have a killer rec room of your own).

  • should have walked into the viewing rooms..

  • Hardly any real merit and no loss, though. It's not a proper movie theatre, just a big shed that housed a multiplex. Multiplexes are tacky and tasteless compared with PROPER cinemas. Good riddance.

  • Wow, that is one scary movie. Glad you didn't charge me to watch this but I would have paid $10 plus the popcorn and soda.
