KCBS Radio interviews Saint Mary's Politics Professor Hisham Ahmed about the death of Col. Moammar Gadhafi, the former leader of Libya who ruled the country with an iron fist for 42 years.
A professor of politics, Ahmed is a leading authority on Islamic movements -- in particular the Palestinian group Hamas -- and is able to speak broadly about politics in the Middle East.
He's able to speak broadly about politics in the Middle East, has written numerous articles about politics in the region and was a political scientist at Birzeit University near the West Bank city of Ramallah until mid-2006.
Ahmed is open to speaking with the press about the Arab Spring, the fall of Col. Muammar Ghaddaffi, the death of Osama Bin Laden and its impact on Al Queda, the political relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan and the ongoing conflict and negotiations between Palestine and Israel.
