There is only one sport actually worth calling it football and if this causes confusion among US americans, why don't they call their sport what it really is: a rather girlish version of rugby!
Put on some more protection gear, grow a beerbelly, touch other mens ass as you wish, but don't call it football because USissies have no idea what football is all about! It is much more then just a game, it is a life-style, its a religion!
