Sweet Birch ("Betula lenta") twigs are a source of a wintergreen-flavored tea that's available all year.

  • Again, thanx for all of your feedbacks on my films. I'm NOT an herbalist so my answers to this question will just be a beginning on this subject. I drink a cup of green tea every morning. Supposedly it has several compounds in it to prevent decay. If i want to sweeten it, i use xylitol, a sweetener from the sweet birch tree which i purchase from Swanson Vitamin Co. Viadent Toothpaste uses compounds from the plant Bloodroot which help reduce plaque & fite gum disease. Hope this helps...

  • @luvtheearth1 - Check out the rsearch by Weston A. Price on the health of teeth in people without commercial dental care products

  • Never knew you could make a toothbrush out of it's twig. Very cool. I was wondering about those type of things like can we really take care of our teeth and gums w/o using commercial products? Toothbrush, toothpaste & floss? How effective is it? I know part of the answer is healthy lifestyle and diet (no processed foods/chemicals). Any thoughts?
