A few years after working on Beyond Destiny (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlQ_M9IfIHM), I was approached by a fellow QBasic enthusiast and developer of the text-mode adventure game Sir Chomps-A-Lot, BattleCraft99, about rebuilding SirChomps as a graphical adventure game.

I dusted off the tile engine code for Beyond Destiny and restructured it to work with the design requirements of SirChomps. I had also implemented the original JFont library to allow for far superior text rendering and did a lot (most) of the graphics that are visible in the video.

BC99 was able to improve the JFont routines by fixing a couple of bugs, allowing for user-definable typefaces and font scaling. He had also put together the beginnings of a battle system, also visible in the video.

This video represents the last version of SirChomps, v1.22 that was ever developed. I ended up losing touch with BattleCraft99 around 2000 and so the project ended up dying.

Who knows, maybe I'll revive it one day?
