I don't think McCain would be caught dead saying that now, but I think he was right. Eventualy England had to start dealing with Sinn Fein, and after and now Ireland's reletively peaceful. PIRA hasn't totally given up its' arms, but the attacks have stopped. It's a reality, with ethno nationalist conflicts you have to start talking with rebels and terrorists to end it.
