Old posts, but I hate seeing bad info.
Rolling isn't always terrible. It has its purposes. CF in particular benefits more from rolling backwards than he does wding oos, most times.
WD OoS has lag, just like a regular WD has lag. That's how you beat Luigi with characters not named Marth. You camp the part of his WD that lets you hit him before he recovers from the WD.
BlueFox is right, you're wrong. Esp with Doc vs Fox. Jab>usmash can wreck you if you try to WD OoS and get caught. =/

I dont approve shroom

1. nope, rolling is terrible, you must be a noob.
2. wavedash out of shield leaves you vulnerable to nothing, if you got hit by a jab you timed it wrong or did it too slow.
3. You're telling me that wavedash out of shield has lag but you're saying rolling was safer here? Please
-
rolling may not be good but it certainly isnt as bad as you say. Wavedash out of shield is much more useful, but in the cases we're discussing here rolling was safer. Wavedash out of shield leaves you vunerable to the jab>usmash because you still have lag during wavedashing. In most cases, however, wd out of shield is best.
