I was going to try the baking soda on the scalp with water but then my mom asked me why I had baking soda out. I told her and she advised me against it saying it can burn and even cause hair loss. We phoned my hairdresser and she also told me not to use it. She said to use dish soap instead (My hair gets oily throughout the day and it doesn't water how much or how little I wash it). I also have excess sebum in my hair which doesn't help.

I suggest using a more water based baking soda mix- and following up with apple cider vinegar. The soda has a very high PH. After washing the the soda, rinse with an ACV mix which will level out the PH. DO NOT use straight soda or leave on for a long time as it can burn you hair /scalp because of the PH. You can see other vids by searching baking soda shampoo
Good Luck!

You should watch Kimmaytube's video about using bakingsoda to wash your scalp. I think it may help you out alot.
Baking soda is very bad because it's not natural (it's manufactured) and it's very alkaline compared to your hair which is acidic... There is really no way to fight dandruff naturally because it's a medical condition so your best bet is to go to a store and get some anti dandruff shampoo.... I know how this because I am a cosmetology student and I personally have been dealing with this problem.....

@ChristinNachelle123 Oh ok... I've actually had some good results with incorporating natural, extra virgin coconut oil into my daily routine. I don't really put it on my scalp, but I found that taking a tablespoon in the morning and one before bed helped A LOT. Now, I cook with it and I might take a tablespoon in the morning and dandruff really isn't too much of an issue anymore, if at all. I found this out by accident. I take coconut oil for general health and weight loss. Pretty awesome stuff.

I have never used baking soda alone, but when I am clarifying my scalp because I sometimes use shea butter to twist my hair, I will it mixed with sahmpoo for the 1st wash and just shampoo as the 2nd wash, then condition. you only need a 3 pinchs to place in the shampoo in you hand then wash. really cleanses the scalp.

To me baking soda is too abbrasive to scrub into your scalp. I would just use my fingers very gently. Your scalp should never be scrubbed. I had burning when I used BC but I thought is was because I used a mint shampoo which left my pores opened too much to then put BC on top.

@shuganaps Oh ok... So I'll try it with my finger tips next time. But I tell ya, that tooth brush sure did feel good. At the moment, then my scalp started feeling raw.
