@jomike its an energy gel, comes is a packet, its mainly composed of electrolytes and some minerals, some packs contain caffeine. check out 'gu energy gels' for more info.

I prefer shake gel and water in the same bottle. The taste be good and more fast to drink and intake a gel, especially on triathlon's races.

clever. though my gel to water usage is more like one 20 oz per gel pack. Therefore, you would need to refill the water bottle at least once, not sure how messy that would be. also you're giving up water space for the gel container. bottom line, 2 gels = about 2 hours of running with one water stop for a refill - makes more sense to carry your gels in their own container or make use of a gel flask and multiwater bottle carrier for long runs or ultras.

That seems like a good way to store your energy gels for cycling and triathlon. I would hate for the gel to accidentally leak. I wonder where you can buy these...
