Los Angeles voice actor and impressionist Jeff McNeal, inspired by recent events, pays tribute to John Kay and Steppenwolf with this cover of the ultimate biker anthem, "Born To Be Wild". After hearing the news today that Harley Davidson is opening an assembly plant in India, I was swept with a wave of sadness. Harley Davidson's proud tradition of "Made In America" is coming to an inglorious end, after one of the great comeback stories of the 1990's. It looks like the weakening economy has gotten the best of this proud, uniquely American brand, which is losing a little of it's luster with this news. Upon further investigation, it appears that India will be assembling bikes from parts manufactured in America, in order to duck a steep tariff that drives up the cost of purchasing a Harley to almost double in that market. Still, these are American assembly jobs that are being lost, and that's just a drag. I fear it's the beginning of the end. BTW, if you dig this cover, please feel free to comment and/or rate. And if you're a real Steppenwolf fan, I've also covered Magic Carpet Ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=posuGaSJVBQ Thanks again for all the great comments. Cheers.

  • @bowhunter2439 Thanks pal. You'll be glad to know that I'm working on it. I'm having my second and final audition with a local cover band in San Diego in a couple of days and if I get the nod, I'll start doing some local live gigs and can't wait for that. I also received an offer to sing in Moscow for 3 months with airline tickets, a paid apartment, food and driver (!) to shuttle me back and forth to their nightclub. But I said. "Nyet". I wish I could get the same offer for Vegas, ha ha.

  • @xxskullduggeryxx You pose a great question. If you're such a Steppenwolf fan, why didn't you simply look at Youtube videos of the band yourself? Sorry if you were offended by my tribute cover, as that was not my intention. Cheers.

  • Great cover - I really enjoyed listening to this. A great performance of a great song.

  • I recently discover you Jeff. Keep it going dude!

As a guitar player in my 50's, you do a great job! Love Blue Money
