Norman Rockwell is my great uncle by blood on my fathers side.

“You do seem to have an eye for these things,” says a man with a bow tie who is one of the curators. “I couldn't help but see the footage on your video camera and I must say that it's a fine digital effect. Are you filmmakers?”
Rochelle smiles, “Yes, and Norman Rockwell is alive!”
-
“Absolutely not, how can a video of a picture effect the original picture to become animated unless of course the picture that you recorded was actually a video screen. Perhaps you have been suckered into some elaborate interactive piece of art?”
“No no, not at all, I feel like I have not been tricked. I feel liberated by this.” A man with a tall top hat and a long black coat walks by—a guide dressed up as Abraham Lincoln

“Guys, you have to see this,” says Rochelle to the others in the gallery sitting on the curvy wooden bench in the middle of the spacious blue room. “I have just seen a person in the picture come to life!”
“And do you have any evidence of this?” replies Garth who looked bored.
“Yes indeed I do, look at this,” she shows them the video on the camera.
“My god that's incredible,” says Damon, “is this some kind of freaky effect that your camera has Gareth?”

The Norman Rockwell Museum is equally educational as it is beautiful. The setting is a painting all by itself and the mueusem is a place you'll never get tired of visiting in all seasons. I had the pleasure of meeting Laurie and she manages the legacy of Rockwell with the respect he and his work deserves.

Tocquevilles spirit strong in Norman Rockwell's Museum, Stockbridge, Machachuttes. Democracy worshippers flock, interpreting art as exhibition, work in collections, projects digitalized, curium available, curate, travel, growth, his America in the Berkshire Hills. Rochelle was using the camera, not supposed to, she recorded a self-portrait of Rockwell painting a self-portrait whilst he looked into a mirror observing the observer. He smiled. Rochelle jumped. Represents himself by watching us.

Thank you..I'm a huge fan of the great man - a truly iconic figure
Does anyone know the name of the painting at 2:15 (the little black girl being exchorted)?
Thanks for posting. I love Rockwell's work.

You're welcome- the name of the painting is "The Problem We All Lived With." Rockwell based it on the true story of the desegregation of schools in Louisiana during the 1960s. Ruby Bridges, one of the first black children to integrate into a formerly segregated white school in New Orleans, is considered by many to be the inspiration for the picture. I conducted an interview with Bridges for a documentary I did on Norman Rockwell- hopefully I'll get a chance to post that here soon.
